Synopsis
When considering the audio choices going to be used in the audio visual promo, I considered the legal and ethical regulations; such as copyright and intellectual property.
As a result of these constraints, I decided to use a non copyright song for the first and main scene: "sans." by Toby Fox. Throughout the promo, I have decided to use more than one Toby Fox song, as they are free to use. Furthermore, the song originates from an indie game called Undertale - this game, and indie games in general, are featured within the audience's interests. This audio choice was made based on legal / ethical issues as well as the target audience's criteria.
According to Materia Music Publishing's website, all music from the games Undertale and Deltarune are allowed to be used in videos as long is it not used for commercial use. Because of this, if we wanted to publicly broadcast this promo, I would have to consider using another song(s) that do not go against any legal / ethical issues (that also fit the target audience's profile)
In terms of the genre of the music choice, I chose to use indie video game music - I made this choice based on the target audience's profile. As the promo targets a younger target audience (that specifically targets an audience with an interest in video games and fandoms in general), the intention behind using this genre is to gain the attention of the target audience.
In terms of psychometrics, our target audience falls into the category of the explorer, the aspirer and the reformer. The explorer role fits the target audience the most because explorers are more inclined to discover new things and invest in different products. They choose to invest in products that they discover. This applies to our target audience because we want to encourage them to buy our product as a way to discover a new method of creating content.
Our target audience also falls under the category of the aspirer - This is because we want the people that invest in the product to seek status by the content they produce with the tablet. As well as the aspirer, the reformer role also applies because our target audience are defined by self-esteem and self-improvement.
