Legal and Ethical Issues

Copyright:

As a result of using materials gained from several content creators, I must consider copyright as one of the main legal issues while creating the promo. Any content included in the promo that has been created by someone else may be protected by the copyright law. Due to this law, there are several ways of gaining permission to use copyrighted content: these ways include contacting the creator and asking for permission, paying to use the content, and using copyright free content. To resolve the issue around this constraint, I used copyright free material - such as the music featured in the promo.

Intellectual property:

Similarly to copyright, intellectual property is a legal constraint regarding content that is protected by the law (copyright is an example of intellectual property). Examples on intellectual property are: content that you have created, content that you have bought the rights to own, trademarks and logos.

Misrepresentation:

When creating the promo, I need to ensure that the content does not show any kind of hate speech or content that may show bad representation towards a certain culture, background, group or individual as it may cause my ad to be too inappropriate to be advertised publicly on any social platform and TV.
Misrepresentation can easily be caused, based on the needs and criteria for the target audience.

Offence:

Similarly to misrepresentation, I must not include anything that will cause any kind of offense towards the target audience within the promo. I must research the target audience's interests and the criteria thoroughly to understand what I can and cannot include.

Age:

As for age, the content going to be used within my promo must be suitable and age appropriate, especially considering that my target audience targets a younger audience. I cannot include any inappropriate material (Including references to the following), such as: profanity, sexual content, use of substances and alcohol.
